Richard, the paperboy, from The Red Scarf, Dec. 1944
Well, I guess I don’t hafta tell y’all there’s a book out all about some of the stuff that happened to me way back during that big war with the Japs and the Germans…you know WW II. That’s right; and it’s all about Christmas. It was one of them Christmases I’ll never forget. Shoot, it was something else.
The book is The Red Scarf, and I’ve just been tickled to death about what some folks have said about it. Heck, just take a look at what this nice lady said:
“I absolutely loved The Red Scarf!!! It’s one of those rare works that anyone, no matter who, can read — from a 12-year-old boy to an 84-year-old female, it has something for everyone. This is the best book I’ve read in awhile, and I could not put it down. I actually shed some tears over it, it was that good!”
